Mason and Howes changing to 2-way traffic

July 9, 2009

Remember to look both ways on Mason and Howes as they will be changed to 2-way traffic between Laurel and Cherry streets.

The conversion started June 8 with Howes Street at Cherry Street and is working south towards Laurel. One to two blocks will be closed one day at a time while crews are working. Once Howes is completed, the conversion will begin on Mason, also starting on Cherry and working south.

Project will lead to increased efficiency

This project is part of the Mason Corridor project which will eventually bring a bus rapid transit system as well as a bike and pedestrian trail that will connect old town to southern Fort Collins.

The conversion is designed to increase efficiency for the bus rapid transit system as well as improve overall downtown access and mobility for cars and bicyclists.
