Fun in the summer: Downtown!

Fort Collins has bragging rights when it comes to the kind of entertainment it hosts in its downtown district. This summer there is a Thursday night concert series in Old Town Square, brewer's festival, a series of gallery walks, and of course, the hugely popular NewWestFest.

It's summertime -- time for kicking back and enjoying the outdoors. Colorado State University students, faculty, staff, conferees, and visitors don't have to go far to find great outdoor entertainment.

There are a number of events taking place in downtown Fort Collins, located only a few minutes from campus.

Noontime Notes Concert Series
Tuesdays, now through August 6
Oak Street Plaza

Bring a picnic or eat out in historic downtown, then enjoy live, intimate music at the Noontime Notes Concert Series.

Music styles include Latin, folk, bluegrass and jazz, featuring local Fort Collins trios and quartets. Concerts begin the first Tuesday in June and continue through the second week of August.

The concerts are free and open to the public. Pack your lunch, bring the kids, ride your bike, stop over during your lunch break, walk with friends but bring yourself downtown to Oak Street Plaza (College Avenue and Oak Street). Come enjoy the outdoors in historic Downtown, the open spaces, and wonderful relaxed environment with quality musicians. The local band, Daddy Rabb, will perform classic rock during the 2013 Ben & Jerry's FAC Concert Series.

First Friday Gallery Walks

First Friday Gallery Walks, free, self-guided gallery tours, are held year-round the first Friday of every month from 6-9 p.m.

The gallery walks are a summertime favorite. Old Town Fort Collins galleries remain open in the evening. Refreshments are served.

Experience paintings, sculptures, exhibits, photos, and more, with many of the gallery owners on hand to share their expertise.

Colorado Brewer's Festival

The 24th Annual Colorado Brewers' Festival brings the community and long time friends together to celebrate in historic Downtown Fort Collins.

The event will take place during the third weekend in June and feature over 40 Colorado breweries and 70+ Colorado beers. 

Join us and enjoy Colorado's best beers, fabulous food, and stellar Colorado music.

Downtown Summer Sales

Enjoy the great summer weather by meandering through downtown to check out the awesome sales. Downtown merchants will be displaying their great deals and sale merchandise inside their stores.

Be sure to call ahead for specific store hours. The streets will be alive with many talented performers.  Streetmosphere performers will be entertaining all around downtown throughout the weekend!

Free historic trolley rides will be offered on Thursday, July 18 and Friday, July 19 from noon to 5 p.m. Catch it on Mountain Avenue just west of Mason Street.

Bohemian Nights at NewWestFest

Northern Colorado’s largest free community and music festival, the Bohemian Nights at NewWestFest will be  August 16, 17 & 18, 2013 in Historic Downtown Fort Collins (Friday night is a special music kickoff to the weekend!).

In its 25th year, this weekend event will showcase over 250 arts, crafts and food booths, a kids’ area, a children's carnival, two beer gardens, and multiple stages of over 120 performances highlighting Northern Colorado and the Front Range’s wonderfully talented artists. 

Lots of Colorado bands and national music headliners grace all of the music stages! The festival brings the best Colorado bands to Fort Collins with a wide variety of genres to choose from.

Downtown Fort Collins

See hundreds of great hot-rods, vintage cars and classic trucks will be on display in Downtown Fort Collins.

The variety of cars & trucks will include custom cars, street rods, fat fender street rods, muscle cars, classic motorcycles, classic cars and classic trucks. Live music will fill Old Town Square as people enjoy the show and dine on surrounding restaurant patios.
