Lory Student Center Theatre

Come join El Centro in a celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month featuring the salsa band, Quemando. At intermission there'll be a performance by a couple dancing to salsa and the merengue. This event is open to the public and free, so bring your friends.

Doors open at 6:30 p.m.

Quemando - salsa!

The Quemando Salsa Orquesta is a 12 piece salsa band that performs both traditional and contemporary salsa.

This 11-piece orchestra features powerful vocals from Columbian singer Kelly Rizo, and Robin Jerre from Peru, and is accompanied by timbales, conga, and bongo, as well as an in-your-face-four piece horn section.

Quemando was chosen as the final closing act of Jazzfest Denver last year, and rocked the sobo festival. Next year Quemando plans a release of their first all original album which will demonstrate the songwriting abilities of the band collectively.

Program note: Due to the unavailability of the person who normally coordinates the fashion show, the fashion show part of this year's event will not take place.
