Celebrate Cinco de Mayo May 2

El Centro will be hosting a Cinco de Mayo Celebration from 11 a.m.-1:30 p.m. May 2 in the LSC Theatre. The event includes:

  • a performance by the Latin American Students and Scholars Organization,
  • songs by Harris Bilingual first graders,
  • CSU student speakers, and
  • a performance by Quetzalcoatl Aztec Dance group.

Homemade chips, salsa, and horchata will be available for free throughout the event. A student organization also will sell paletas for $2.  

Cinco de Mayo

Cinco de Mayo commemorates the Mexican army’s victory over France at the Battle of Puebla during the Franco-Mexican War from 1861-1867, and has since evolved into a celebration of Mexican culture and heritage.
