Holiday party

The College of Applied Human Sciences Dean’s Leadership Council will host its annual holiday party for children and families in support of the Community Organizing to Reach Empowerment (CORE) Center on Dec. 8.

The CORE Center provides programming to address the needs of at-risk children, teens, and families in several north Fort Collins communities.

Dinner, games, and Santa Claus

For the party, parents, young children, and relatives will come to the Lory Student Center for dinner, and the children will enjoy playing holiday games, face painting, and making holiday crafts such as decorating their own piñata. They will also have their pictures taken with Santa Claus.

The Dean’s Leadership Council Students are doing all of the preparation for the party, including setting up, working at the tables with the children and parents, decorating, and sharing their holiday spirit.

Dean’s Leadership Council member Emilee Hayward, a senior apparel and merchandising major, said, “As the fundraising chair for the AHS Dean's Leadership Council, I have decided to reach out to the community for assistance in making this year an incredible event for all of the families who attend. In addition to the party, our goal is to provide every child with a hat, a pair of gloves, and a Christmas gift.”
