Annual event, "LA Days"

"LA Days" is an annual event held by the CSU Student Chapter of the American Society of Landscape Architects. This  event has been going on for over 20 years.

Working in professional environments

This year, four landscape architects are being flown in to give one-hour lectures on design, theory, construction, and some of projects in their field. Even though the designers are landscape architects or professors of landscape architecture, their ideas and thoughts on design and working in a professional environment can benefit any student.

Four renowned landscape architects to speak

David Rubin

David A. Rubin is a partner at OLIN, recipient of the 2008 Cooper-Hewitt National Design Award. OLIN is known internationally for design excellence in landscape architecture, urban design and planning.

Rubin integrates his passion for art and his interest in the natural world through landscape architecture. His background in fine art allows him to express OLIN’s philosophy of blending art and science to transform social and environmental systems.

Michael Blier

Several of Michael Blier's current projects reflect a desire to engage innovative strategies for dealing with existing environmental and ecological issues present at the site.  Blier strives to create contemporary, formally compelling, and sustainable solutions.

Blier received a BFA and BLA from the Rhode Island School of Design in 1986 and a MLA from the GSD in 1994.

Jane Amidon

Jane Amidon is Associate Professor and Section Head, Landscape Architecture Section at the Austin E. Knowlton School of Architecture, Ohio State University, Columbus, Ohio.

Linda Jewell
