Hearings on next year's budget set for Jan. 29

January 22, 2014

VPs, deans make case for FY 2015 requests in all-day open meeting.

Budget hearings for Fiscal Year 2015 will be held Jan. 29, 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m., in the Cherokee Park Ballroom in the Lory Student Center. The process is open to the entire campus community and the general public.

Vice presidents and deans will each have 15 minutes to present their budget priorities. They will make their arguments for the initiatives they have submitted earlier in the budgeting process – what they are for, why they are important, and answer any questions.  Miranda will summarize the requests that emerged from SPARCfest on Jan. 22 and present the latest draft of the FY 2015 budget.

Based on the information presented at the hearings, an updated draft budget will be compiled and ready for review and feedback from the campus community in mid-to-late February, according to Miranda.

A final budget must be in place before the state’s fiscal year begins on July 1.
