Documentary 'Swift Justice' March 29

The documentary, 'Swift Justice' will be shown on Monday, March 29 in connection with activities at CSU surrounding the university's observance of Cesar Chavez Day, 2010.

In connection with Colorado State University's celebration and observance of Cesar Chavez Day, 2010, the documentary, Swift Justice, will be shown.

The film concerns the raid of six Swift meat-packing plants in 2006 by ICE workers. The incident initiated a heated debate regarding the place of undocumented works and their exploitation by employers.

Movie synopsis

Co-producers of the movie, Mateos Alvarez and Julie Speer, explore the context and ramifications of the raid through interviews with people on both sides of the issue, from the impact on families coping with legal troubles and sudden loss of income to the arguable morality of current immigration statutes.

The film will be followed by a panel discussion.
