August 29, 2012

"The Citizen" and "Red Dog" are featured films at a three-day festival at the Lory Student Center Theater and other Fort Collins venues.

Film fans, your time has come!

More than 50 independent films and theatre performances, including several premiers shown at CSU’s Lory Student Center Theater, will be presented Sept. 7-9 at the seventh annual TriMedia Film Festival at venues across Fort Collins.

Highlights include the festival’s opening night film, “The Citizen,” and Saturday night feature film, “Red Dog.” A complete schedule of films and venues are available at the festival’s website.

“The Citizen” will be shown at 7:30 p.m. Friday in the Lincoln Center’s main performance hall. The film, based on a true story, tells of a Lebanese man who wins the U.S. Green Card Lottery and arrives in New York City the day before 9/11. The terrorist attacks shape the struggles he faces on his journey to becoming an American citizen.

Producer Kadi, Elwes to attend

Producer/director Sam Kadi and co-star Cary Elwes will attend the screening and will answer audience questions following the film.

'Red Dog' featured at Lory Student Center Theater

“Red Dog” will be shown at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at the newly renovated Lory Student Center Theater. The award-winning film, also based on true events, tells the story of an extraordinary dog that unites a remote mining community in Western Australia. Red Dog was legendary for his journeys through the outback in search of his master. The film, which has become a huge commercial success in Australia, stars Josh Lucas and Rachael Taylor.

Films will be shown starting at noon Saturday and 1 p.m. Sunday at the Lory Student Theater. Tickets are available online or at the door.
