Music from jazz forefathers

At the annual, toe-tapping favorite Jazz Classics Concert, the ensembles perform swing music inspired by the great big bands of Duke Ellington, Count Basie, Thad Jones and others, as well as selections of standards and jazz classics.

“Every year we have the great pleasure of presenting a program of jazz standards and classics, some in the original arrangements by our jazz forefathers,” says director Peter Sommer. “We have a great time sharing this music with our audience and we hope that the good feelings can be felt all the way in the back of the hall.”
