Veterinary and Biomedical Research Day offers partnership opportunities to businesses

February 19, 2009

Biomedical and veterinary research being conducted at Colorado State University will be highlighted at the College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences Research Day from noon to 5 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 21 at the Fort Collins Hilton.

The day offers information to local businesses that may be interested in partnering in biomedical innovations with faculty and students in the college.

The research day, which celebrates 10 years this year, will feature about 120 research projects available for review via displays about the projects along with about 30 presentations about research.

Pfizer Award Winner Dr. Elaine Carnevale

The symposium will commence at noon with a keynote speaker and the Pfizer Award address delivered by Dr. Elaine Carnevale. Poster and oral presentations in basic and clinical sciences by graduate students, veterinary students, veterinary residents and interns will follow.

There will be an awards ceremony at 6:30 p.m. with cash prizes. We encourage students and faculty from all departments to participate in this event and to hear about the exciting research taking place.

As in previous years, outstanding presenters of abstracts will receive awards of excellence at a ceremony following the general presentations.

Research projects are included from all disciplines of the college including:

  • veterinary medicine
  • infectious disease
  • microbiology
  • immunology, pathology
  • clinical sciences
  • radiological sciences
