Kyla Allmon named editor in chief of CSU Life

Journalism major will begin her duties with next issue of monthly newspaper for faculty and staff, to be published in August.

Kyla AllmonKyla Skye Allmon, who will be a senior studying journalism and technical communications in the fall, has been named Editor in Chief of CSU Life for the 2013-14 academic year. She will begin her duties with the next issue, scheduled to be published after classes begin in August.

“I am thrilled to accept this position and look forward to working with the staff,” Allmon said. “This is an incredible opportunity, and I hope I will offer invaluable contributions to the publication as well.”

Allmon, who is minoring in political science, has been a Resident Assistant in Corbett  Hall since August 2011. She has also been actively involved with the Intra-University Leadership Council, serving as president since August 2012, and has volunteered as a dispatcher for RamRide and participated in Cans Around the Oval.

One of Allmon’s goals for CSU Life is to create an online/social media presence for the publication, and foster greater interaction between the faculty and staff of CSU and the publication’s student writers and editors.
