Guest speakers will be introducing the late Fukuda's work at the opening reception from 5-7 p.m. Oct. 1 at Morgan Library’s First National Bank Gallery.

The opening reception, hosted by Friends of Colorado State University Libraries, is free and open to the public.

Message via minimal graphics

Known for his cutting antiwar and environmental advocacy posters, Fukuda died in January 2009. The exhibit is designed as a tribute to the influential Japanese graphic designer who was an expert at communicating messages with minimal graphics.

Fukuda won a major prize in the first CIIPE in 1979 and was the honor laureate exhibitor in 1981 and juror in 1983. Fukuda’s frequent presence in Fort Collins in those early years was pivotal in gaining international recognition for CIIPE.

2,000 posters from past shows

The public can view the International Poster Collection held by CSU’s Archives and
Special Collections
in the Morgan Library. It contains nearly 2,000 posters from past CIIPE shows, including 20 by Fukuda.

This satellite CIIPE exhibit is hosted by Colorado State University Libraries and Friends of Colorado State University Libraries. [More information]
