Students, alumni and friends give back through CSUnity April 21

April 19, 2012

CSU students, alumni and friends will join together this Saturday, April 21, to participate in CSUnity, a day dedicated to volunteering and bettering communities in Colorado and across the country.

For years, hundreds of CSU students have come together every spring for a day-long service project in and around the Fort Collins community. Everyone in the CSU community is encouraged to participate in this year’s service projects.

CSUnity is an event that has student volunteers participate in service projects such as planting trees, painting houses, visiting with senior citizens, sorting food and much more. These services are provided to neighbors in the community, the City of Fort Collins, state, county and federal agencies as well as local non-profits.

CSU students are making a huge impact

“CSUnity is a great opportunity for our students to interact with and get involved in the local community," said program coordinator Brett Rundle."Through their participation in CSUnity, CSU students are making a huge impact on the lives of others and learning about various social issues that are directly impacting Larimer County. The service and volunteer work that they engage in demonstrates their appreciation for the organizations and individuals that they work with, as well as their commitment to strengthening this community.”

Thousands of volunteers and community service hours

In previous years, CSUnity has gathered more than 2,000 volunteers and provided thousands of community service hours for organizations across Larimer County. CSUnity is striving to exceed these numbers this year with the many volunteer service projects scheduled for this weekend.
