The Wildlife Society goes to the dogs

November 5, 2013

On Tuesday, Nov. 5, The Wildlife Society is having guest speaker Greg Davidson give a talk and dog demonstration on the organization he founded called Find It Detection Dogs.

Greg started his detection dog program as a way to conduct cougar research in Oregon in a way that promoted conservation, and it has since grown into an organization that offers dog team rentals for work in the field, data collection, and lab analysis.

Detection dogs present a novel conservation minded, noninvasive way to collect data and conduct field research as well as increase sample size while preserving wildlife and habitat. Greg will be bringing one of his conservation dogs with him to give a demonstration on how these amazing animals can be tracked.

The meeting will be held at 5 p.m. in Wagar 232, Greg will also be answering questions about his detection dogs and his conservation work after the meeting.
