Community Welcome needs volunteers

Ever wonder who's responsible for educating our student population about local ordinances and good neighboring behavior?

Seeking volunteers

In what has become a local tradition, more than 100 volunteers, including Fort Collins Police Officers, city staff and the campus community, will visit more than 2,000 homes near campus on Aug. 22.

Households will receive a unique deck of cards or an informative brochure with messages, such as:

  • "Take the initiative and get to know your neighbors"
  • "You have a right to party; others have a right to sleep"

Welcoming students back

In addition to educating students about good neighboring behaviors associated with off-campus living, the event also welcomes students back to Fort Collins. Each team stresses the importance of forming positive relationships with those living in close proximity.

Please join us in welcoming CSU students into the surrounding neighborhoods while building valuable relationships with our surrounding long-term neighbors.

To volunteer

If you would like to volunteer for this event, contact Emily Allen with Off-Campus Life at (970) 491-2248.

Volunteer check-in starts at 4:30 p.m. in the LSC West Ballroom. Villa Pizza will be provided. Volunteers should wear their walking shoes, and bring water bottles for use during the neighborhood walk. The event typically ends at about 8 p.m.

Thank you in advance for supporting us as we welcome our off-campus students into the surrounding neighborhoods.
