Writing for the web

April 6, 2009

CSU's Writing Across the Curriculum Program is offering a workshop this coming Wednesday on writing for the Web. The instructor is the English Department's Web editor and designer.

Writing for the Web, Part 1: Understanding the writing situation

This workshop is scheduled for Wednesday, Apr. 8, from 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. in Eddy Hall, room 6. The audience is anyone who writes for the Web or wants to. Our presenter is Jill Salahub, English Department Web Editor and Designer.

What is good web writing?

Creating successful texts for the Web requires that writers thoroughly understand the complex web of influences involved and make thoughtful choices based on that awareness. This workshop will introduce writers to the unique qualities of this writing situation.

It will begin to answer the question "what is good web writing?" and give participants a sense of how a writer might produce such writing. The workshop is free and open to all members of the CSU community.
