Book Drive for children of CSU students

December 1, 2010

Open a new world for children of CSU students by donating new or gently used books to the Adult Learner and Veteran Services Office. Drop off your book (unwrapped) in Room 195 of the Lory Student Center through Wednesday, Dec. 8.

boyOpening new worlds for children

Adult Learner and Veteran Services is collecting new and gently used books for children of CSU students. Last year, we collected 746 books, and more than 79 families were able to give books to their children. (In 2008, we collected 200 books for more than 25 families.)

The book drive is going on right now and runs through Dec. 8. Get in the holiday (and inspirational!) spirit and drop off your books to Adult Learner and Veteran Services, Room 195 Lory Student Center, which is at the northeast corner of LSC’s main level and down the hall from the CSU Bookstore.

Drop off your unwrapped, new, and gently used books between 7:30 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday through Friday.

All donated books will be distributed free to CSU student parents who are Pell Grant eligible.

Students will 'shop' for books during finals week Dec. 13-16.

  • Monday through Wednesday: Pell Grant-eligible students/parents only
  • Thursday: all students/parents
  • Friday: closed.

At the end of the drive, remaining books will be donated to the Bright Red Bookshelf, a nonprofit organization that provides books for underprivileged children in the community.
