50 Years of Art at the Curfman Gallery

August 23, 2012

The work of numerous artists that once hung in the Curfman Gallery -- including Andy Warhol, the pioneer of the Pop Art movement and the most ubiquitous artist of the 20th century-- will be on exhibition beginning August 24. The exhibition includes pieces from guest artists, the International Invitational Poster Exhibition, and student works.

Highlights of five decades

If you've missed any of the fabulous exhibits in the Curfman Gallery over the years, be sure to take advantage of an exhibition opening Friday, August 25, which brings some of the best art of five decades back to the gallery!

Our Visual History is an art exhibition in the Curfman Gallery highlighting the arts in the Lory Student Center over the past 50 years. This exhibition is closely aligned with the 50th anniversary celebration of the LSC. 

What you'll see

This exhibition will showcase the rich history of the visual arts in the LSC over the years.

The gallery will be exhibiting:

  • works from artists who have shown in the Curfman Gallery over the years,
  • works from some of the gallery's recurring exhibitions such as the Colorado International Invitational Poster Exhibition (CIIPE), and
  • student works that are part of the LSC collection.

The opening reception will be on Friday, August 24, from 5-7 p.m.

Please join us in celebrating the amazing history of the art that has been displayed in the Lory Student Center.  Meet some of the artists represented and take a walk down memory lane.
