Indiana professor to lead Global Workshop

August 29, 2014

CSU's Office of International Programs is sponsoring a Global Learning Workshop featuring Indiana University professor Hilary Kahn.

Hilary Kahn will lead the half-day workshop. The half-day workshop, set to begin at 8:30 a.m. Sept. 29 at the Lory Student Center, is open to faculty, staff and instructors. Lunch is provided but because space is limited, priority will be given to those planning to attend the entire session.

Popular speaker

Kahn, the director of IU’s Center of the Study of Global Change, returns to CSU after directing a popular workshop last spring. The workshop will encourage faculty to think critically and intentionally about their teaching and provide practical advice on how to articulate global learning outcomes.  Participants are encouraged to bring a syllabus or set of program goals to develop during this hands-on workshop.

“Teaching globally demands an understanding of knowledge as a process that involves interconnections, plurality, collaboration, and collective engagement with the world,” Kahn said.

Registration open

Participants are encouraged to register by Sept. 15. For more information, or to register, contact Karen Gardinier – or (970) 491 0737 – in the Office of International Programs.
