Non-auditioned concert orchestra open to students, faculty, staff

The CSU Concert Orchestra is a non-auditioned string ensemble which meets on Mondays and Fridays from 1 p.m.-2:30 p.m. in Rm. 202 of the University Center for the Arts.

Leslie StewartThe first rehearsal will be held next Friday, Aug. 24. All CSU students are welcome, regardless of major. CSU faculty and staff are also invited to participate as a fun “lunchtime break” activity.

New conductor

The new conductor is Leslie Stewart was named “Most Inspirational Faculty Member” in 2006 by the College of Liberal Arts at Old Dominion University where she served as director of Orchestral Activities. Stewart is currently director of CSU’s Summer Conducting Program for working music educators and music director of the Health and Wellness Orchestra, a community orchestra based at Poudre Valley Hospital.

She has also served as assistant conductor of the Longmont Symphony and has recently guest conducted the Denver School of the Arts Orchestra, the Youth Orchestra of the Rockies and the Colorado All-State String Orchestra.
