Outdoor rental gear now available

Outdoor equipment is now available for rent for CSU students and Rec Center members by Campus Recreation. With summer in full swing, now is the time to rent gear for backpacking, camping, and mountaineering.

Outdoor programs offers rental gear

The Outdoor Program in Campus Recreation is now offering outdoor equipment rentals for CSU students and Rec Center members.

Items currently available for check out:
  • Two-person backpacking tent
  • Four-person car camping tent
  • Backpacking stove (with fuel)
  • Backpack (5,000 cubic in)
  • Sleeping bag rated to 20 degrees
  • Foam sleeping pad
  • Rock climbing shoes
  • Rock climbing helmet
  • Bouldering crash pad
  • Mountaineering ice axe
  • Mountaineering boots

Items are available at daily, weekend and weekly rates. The weekend rate includes a free pickup day on Friday and a free return day on Monday.

Additional rental gear

Upon request, the Outdoor Program can also arrange for rental of:

  • avalanche beacons
  • crampons
  • double boots
  • expedition sleeping bags

A library of outdoor climbing and hiking books are available for loan at no charge.

Hours and location

The Outdoor Program suite is located in the lobby of the new Student Recreation Center. Summer hours are 9 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday-Friday, and reservations must be made in person with payment in full at the time of reservation.
