Working at CSU

March 2, 2009

Kathy Phifer has been employed by CSU in the Communications and Creative Services Department as a coordinator for 20 years, and in her present position as director for a year.

Kathy Phifer
Director, Communications & Creative Services

Kathy was nominated by Natalie McCatty from the Division of Public Affairs. Kathy has been employed by CSU in the Communications and Creative Services Department as a coordinator for 20 years, and has been in her present position as director for a year. Here's what Natalie had to say about Kathy:

"She always makes time for and is willing to help her coworkers regardless of how busy she is. She is an inspiration to many."

Kathy is on the School is Cool Executive Committee that has been instrumental in providing children with all the supplies they need to be successful in school for the past 18 years. In addition, Kathy was on Classified Personnel Council for three years, and although now classified as an administrative professional, she still believes very strongly in supporting the needs of classified personnel at CSU.

---------------------------------

She enjoys walking, reading, and also spending time with her family. Fellow employees should know that Kathy believes that members of the CSU community have a strong commitment to each other, a high regard for each other, and a passion for Colorado State University.

“There are tons of people worthy of being an Everyday Hero. I’m humbled and flattered to be nominated."
