Dining with Diabetes classes

Dining With Diabetes is a four-week program that includes diabetes and nutrition education, food demonstrations, tasting, hands-on cooking, and physical activity tips and recommendations.

Enjoy dining with diabetes

If you want to prevent or manage prediabetes or type 2 diabetes, you will love this 4-week program of hands-on learning and cooking!

We will explore realistic changes you can make to your diet and physical activity habits to feel better and control diabetes without it controlling you.


  • Four weekly classes with a registered dietitian
  • Diabetes and nutrition education plus hands-on cooking classes
  • Menu planning, portion control and label reading
  • Recipes and ideas for meals, desserts and snacks
  • Handouts on fats, sugars, sweeteners, grains, and proteins
  • Food safety
  • Guidelines for physical activity

Class meets Thursdays

Class meets on Thursdays from 6-7:30 p.m. from April 17 through May 8. The location offers convenient parking and building access. (Gifford Building
