Seeking volunteers for a childhood obesity research study

May 30, 2014

The Physical Activity Laboratory at CSU is seeking 7- to 11-year-old overweight children to volunteer for a research study exploring how children of varying body sizes walk, run and play.

Children will perform a variety of physical activities, like walking and running, in the Physical Activity Laboratory. We will measure your child's motions during these activities, just like in video game design!

To find out more about our study and to watch videos from past participants, please visit our website.

If you are interested in having your child participate, please send an email to: or call (970) 492-4072

The study will require approximately 1.5 to 2 hours, scheduled at your convenience. Children will receive monetary compensation and a personalized computer animation video.

CSU Project title: Musculoskeletal function and movements during physical activity in children and adolescents. Principal Investigator: Ray Browning, PhD.

This study has been approved by CSU's IRB (protocol number 13-4380H).
