John and Sophie Ottens Foundation gives $39,000 to CSU's Native American Cultural Center

September 23, 2009

The Native American Cultural Center, or NACC, at Colorado State University received another generous gift from the John and Sophie Ottens Foundation.

The John and Sophie Ottens Foundation, based in Arizona, has made a $39,000 commitment to support NACC’s programs for the 2009-2010 school year. This marks the third consecutive year the Ottens' Foundation has chosen to support the NACC office – bringing their total commitment to the Center to over $100,000. This commitment will support programs which focus on student mentoring, tutoring, leadership, professional development, etc.

“We are proud and honored that the John and Sophie Ottens Foundation continues to support our Native American Cultural Center office here at Colorado State University.” NACC director, Ty Smith says. “This gift is crucial for us to provide programs and services that focus on student recruitment, and retention.”
