Are you weary of avoiding difficult conversations and resigning yourself to living day-to-day with stressful situations? The class, 'Tools for talking when topics are tough,' will help you communicate through challenging issues with employees, supervisors, colleagues, teammates, friends, or family members.
Do you find yourself avoiding a conversation you need to have because it’s difficult, you’re not sure how to approach it, and you’re worried about the outcome?
This free class offered by Training and Organizational Development will give you tools for discussing a wide range of difficult issues with employees who work for you, your own supervisor, colleagues, teammates, friends, or family members.
On Wednesday, Sept. 29 from 8 a.m. to noon in Johnson Hall, Room 129, CSU's Training and Organizational Development will present “Essential Conversations.” The class is open to all CSU employees.
Effective communicators are often those who can get things done and at the same time build strong relationships. They encourage the free flow of information even in the toughest situations.
Learn how to communicate effectively in crucial conversations -- the ones that matter most -- the ones that affect results and relationships. Learn how to spot problems early, how to notice the process of the conversation, how to avoid the common problems that occur when opinions vary and the stakes and emotions are high. This course will give you tools for discussing a wide range of difficult issues with employees who work for you, your own supervisor, colleagues, teammates, friends or family members.
This class is free, and pre-registration is required.
