29 dorm rooms broken into at UNC

January 7, 2009

Damage from broken glass and doors is estimated in the thousands of dollars after 29 University of Northern Colorado dorm rooms were broken into on Christmas Day.

Students were on winter break so no one was in the President's Row complex when the break-ins happened in the late afternoon on Christmas Day.  The complex has four residence halls.

UNC spokesman Nate Haas says student residents whose rooms were impacted can make arrangements to check their rooms to see if anything was taken.

An 18-year-old pre-theater freshman, Nelson Ange Barrym, was arrested early Sunday on suspicion of first-degree burglary, second-degree criminal trespassing and criminal mischief.
