Nationally renowned artist Mel Chin speaks April 3

To celebrate the Art Museum opening, we are thrilled to welcome nationally renowned artist Mel Chin, who is known for his socially involved practice.

Mel Chin will discuss, New Beginnings at the End. The lecture takes place on Friday, Apr. 3 at 5 p.m. in the Griffin Concert Hall, University Center for the Arts.

The event is free and open to the public.

Solutions for lead contamination

Chin's current project, Safehouse, investigates and attempts to find solutions for lead contamination in post-Katrina New Orleans.

Chin has been the recipient of a number of prestigious awards including a Rockefeller Foundation Grant, the Creative Capital Grant, and the Pollock/Krasner Foundation Fellowship.
