Counseling Services and Counseling Specialty Services at Colorado State. On March 2, 2013, the Employee Appreciation Board honored Counseling Services as an outstanding unit at Colorado State University.

CSUEAB members Melanie Smith and Maggie Hirko hosted a catered lunch for about 30 staff members in Aylesworth.

Positive, supportive

According to nominator Sam Narby, Counseling Services has had a record-breaking year in terms of the amount of students they have been servicing.

They've created new programs to better meet student needs and have a large training program which services many students.

The staff works extremely hard to create a safe and positive working environment for students and staff alike. The professional staff includes licensed psychologists, licensed clinical social workers, licensed professional counselors, as well as graduate student staff from each of these disciplines.

'Taking the time to honor the work we do'

Following the event, Sam wrote, “Thank you for hosting the EAB luncheon. It was nice to see the whole staff getting together for lunch and taking the time to honor all of the work we do. The lunch was delicious and the prizes were a great addition as well.

"It’s great that the University makes such an effort to recognize all of the different departments at CSU. There are a lot of caring, hard-working people on this campus.”

Your CSUEAB couldn’t agree more and we thank you!
