Faculty and Administrative Professionals Benefits Open Enrollment closes Friday, Nov. 19

The Open Enrollment period for faculty and administrative professionals for CY2011 is scheduled to begin on Monday, Nov. 1 and close on Friday, Nov. 19.

Calendar year 2011 benefits

The Open Enrollment period for faculty and administrative professionals for CY2011 began on Monday, Nov. 1, and close on Friday, Nov. 19. As with last year’s open enrollment, the process will be paperless - any changes must be processed through the Online Benefits Enrollment System by Friday, Nov. 19 at 11:59 p.m., MST.

For benefit eligible faculty and staff, please review carefully the Open Enrollment newsletter (Cost Share or if applicable, Ben Pay for “grandfathered” employees) for important information about the Open Enrollment process and benefit plan highlights and changes, which are exciting and extensive this year:

You must complete the Open Enrollment Process if you are:

  • changing your benefits enrollment options (i.e., plans, pre-post tax status, coverage levels, beneficiaries)
  • enrolling or continuing participation in a FSA (health or dependent care) in CY 2011
  • adding or removing a spouse or domestic partner, or a child or children under the age of 26 on your insurance plans. (you must provide the social security number of your covered spouse or domestic partner and any children)
  • changing your Defined Contribution Plan (DCP) retirement company beginning with 2011 contributions
  • moving from the Select Benefits Plan (Ben Pay) to the CSU Benefits Plan (Cost Share)

Review retirement plan elections, vendor selection

For non-benefit eligible faculty and staff participating in the DCP retirement plan, please review your fund elections to ensure that they continue to be consistent with your financial goals. Also, review your vendor selection as Open Enrollment is the only time you can change your DCP vendor. You must complete the Open Enrollment Process to change the vendor receiving your contributions for the upcoming calendar year.

Open Enrollment benefit elections are done online through the Human Resources application via the Campus Administrative Portal (CAP), which provides highly secured, password protected access.

First choose CSU Employee Self-Service, which is currently used to access your pay advice and other information, then choose the CSU Benefits link to verify your current benefit elections and to participate in the CY2011 Open Enrollment process.
