The Office of CSU Events encourages you to mark your calendar for major university-wide events of the fall 2009 semester, beginning with Ram Welcome, Aug. 20-23.

Ram Welcome

Thursday, Aug. 20 - Sunday, Aug. 23 

Experience CSU! is an exciting opportunity for every new first year and transfer student to begin a successful transition to Colorado State by exploring academic programs, meeting faculty, and learning about the many services available to support their college experience.

Ram Welcome begins Thursday, Aug. 20 with Residence Hall move-in, followed by the Official Welcome and Ram Welcome Carnival. More information is available online, or call the Office of Orientation and Transition Programs at (970) 491-6011.

Green & Gold Gala

Saturday, Aug. 29, 6 p.m., INVESCO Field at Mile High Stadium, Denver 

Presented by the Alumni Association, the Green & Gold Gala is Denver’s premier celebration of Colorado State University. Proceeds from the event benefit CSU students through the Metro Denver Scholarship, awarded annually to a full-time undergraduate junior or senior from the six-county Denver Metro area. Costs and other registration details.

CSU vs. CU Football Game

Sunday, Sept. 6, 5 p.m., Folsom Field, Boulder

Cheer the Rams to victory in this gridiron classic between CSU and CU. This year’s game will be played in Boulder at Folsom Field.

Join CSU to show your support for the Rams at several events leading up to the big match, in both Fort Collins and Denver, including College Colors Day, the Downtown Denver Ram Rally, and annual Alumni Association Pre-Game Tailgate.

International Colloquium

Wednesday, Sept. 9 - Friday, Sept. 11

The Office of International Programs, in conjunction with the School of Global Environmental Sustainability, the Office of the President, and the Office of the Senior Vice President for Research and Engagment, is pleased to announce the International Colloquium on Global Challenges for Sustainability, to be held Sept. 9-11, 2009.

The colloquium is a campus-wide event involving all eight colleges, the Superclusters, Colorado Water Institute and similar centers with specific interests speaking on the topic of sustainability. Diversity Conference

Tuesday, Sept. 22 - Thursday, Sept. 24, Lory Student Center

The 8th Annual Diversity Conference will offer an opportunity to explore diversity in higher education through workshops, presentations, university dialogues, keynote and major speakers.

Sponsored by the Office of Equal Opportunity and Diversity, this year’s conference, Diversity in the 21st Century: Talking about Diversity will offer the opportunity to engage in the sometimes difficult discussions about diversity in order to recognize how our own biases may inhibit progress toward our shared goals, and develop strategies to reduce their impact.

Homecoming & Family Weekend

Friday, Oct. 9 - Sunday, Oct. 11 

Join the CSU community in celebrating our Ram Pride as we welcome alumni, parents, family and friends to campus for Homecoming & Family Weekend.

Be part of the traditional Homecoming Parade and all-university Homecoming Festival on Friday evening, and cheer the Rams to victory over Utah at Saturday afternoon’s Homecoming football game.
