6th Annual Professional Etiquette Dinner

October 14, 2011

Etiquette is defined as the rules for socially acceptable behavior. The Alumni Association's professional etiquette dinner and program addresses how to make a good impression, dining and table manners, and networking essentials!

If someone asks, 'Please pass the cream,' should you help yourself first?Thursday, October 20

Oscar Wilde, a Dublin intellectual and the greatest playwright of the Victorian Era, is known to have said, "The world was my oyster but I used the wrong fork."

Don't make the same mistake Oscar did! Join us for a free evening of social, professional, and dining etiquette overview for students, featuring networking opportunities with alumni.

Do you know...

  • When you sit down at a large table for a social or job networking event, do you know which water glass ... which bread plate... which napkin is yours?
  • If you get an urgent text during the meal, should you answer it?

The professional etiquette dinner and program is a great way to get these and other questions answered.

Exercise in meeting new people

Since this event emphasizes networking and meeting new people, seating is assigned randomly and registering at the same time as a friend does not guarantee that you will be seated together.
