The first fall practices of the Bold New Era of CSU football are in the books as the Rams prepare for their annual showdown with CU.
New coach Jim McElwain and the Rams practiced Saturday and Sunday as they prepare for the 2012 season. McElwain has scheduled 20 practices during fall camp before classes start and the team begins a regular afternoon practice schedule leading up to the Sept. 1 Rocky Mountain Showdown vs. Colorado.
Practices are closed to the public and media, but fans will have at least one opportunity to watch the Rams prior to the first game.
CSU will host a special Ram Club practice at 7:30 p.m. Aug. 15 at Hughes Stadium. Only Ram Club members will be admitted.
Fans who want to join Ram Club can do so online. Membership incentives include the opportunity to purchase tickets in prime locations at Hughes Stadium and Moby Arena and access to several events otherwise closed to the public.
CSU will host another public scrimmage Aug. 17 at the stadium.
Fans also are encouraged to purchase tickets for the annual Rocky Mountain Showdown at Sports Authority Field in Denver. Tickets prices are $25 for students, $35 for upper-level seats, $90 for lower-level seats and $110 for club-level seats. CSU also announced a new Family Fourpack of tickets for $100, and $25 tickets for CSU faculty and staff.
