Michael Robert HabelMichael Robert Habel left this world on June 5, when his heart stopped unexpectedly while visiting his parents' cabin in the mountains near Walden.

Michael was born on September 12, 1992, to Bob and Karen (Kraft) Habel in Fort Collins. Michael graduated from Rocky Mountain High School and was a senior at Colorado State University, pursuing a Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering. Michael's love for electronics was evident in everything he did. He would create his own circuit boards and program them to a customized Christmas light show every year, donating the proceeds to several non-profit organizations. He devoted his time at the CSU Little Shop of Physics each year.

Michael was an excellent musician, mastering any instrument he picked up.  He enjoyed swing dancing, the big band era music as well as jazz, country, rock and contemporary Christian genre. He was a member of the CSU Swing Society and loved any chance he had to wear his wing-tip shoes. Michael enjoyed his vinyl records and deejaying for events. At Rocky Mountain, he led the student band as the director during his senior year. Additionally, he participated in the Stars of Tomorrow talent show for seven years, winning many awards.

Michael is survived by his father, Robert, and mother Karen, both of Fort Collins; brother Zach Habel, of Fort Collins; his grandmother, Lucille Kraft, of Fort Collins; his uncles and aunts, Mark Habel, of Fort Collins; Chris Crego, of Fort Collins; Dave and Shelley Kooser, of Colorado Springs; and Bob and Ronelda Kraft, of Fort Collins; and many cousins.

He was proceeded in death by his grandparents Charles and Jane Habel, of Fort Collins; and Albert Kraft, of Fort Collins.

His wonderful spirit, enthusiasm for life and many talents will be celebrated at a 10 a.m. service on Thursday, June 12, at Resurrection Fellowship, Loveland.
