CU will appeal ruling and fight to keep a gun ban on campus

University of Colorado regents voted 5-4 Friday to appeal a ruling against the gun ban on campus to the Colorado Supreme Court.

Republican Tillie Bishop of Grand Junction voted with Democrats in favor of an appeal. He said he wanted to preserve the rights of regents to make rules for the university.

There also seems to be student support for maintaining the campus gun ban. The University of Colorado Student Government reversed its previous stance and voted 9-8 Thursday night to endorse the gun ban.
