Writing workshops for staff

February 12, 2009

These workshops are focused around the Colorado State University Writers Style Guide, which addresses editorial questions specific to the University.

Style Guide CoverThursday, February 19
Instructor: Sally Robinson, (WorkSmart, USA)
Location: Training & Organizational Development Classroom (Room 129, Johnson Hall)

  • 8 am to 12:30 pm - The Mechanics of Business Writing
  • 1:30 to 5:00 pm - Style and Organization: Writing Effective and Easy-to-Read Workplace Documents

The classes are designed to significantly improve the abilities of writers who lack confidence with basic business writing mechanics, organization, style, and formatting, and provide a comprehensive refresher for experienced writers.

Both workshops are highly interactive and include individual work as well as small and large group exercises. Workbooks provide ample opportunity for practice, contain an answer key, and can be kept as a reference manual for future use.

Participants can attend either or both workshops and those who are interested in completing the Communication Tool Kit certification can count either class toward the certificate.
