Winter coat drive for Pine Ridge Reservation

November 4, 2010

Unfortunately, we cannot collect normal/warm weather clothes due to a lack of resources to transport and sort non-vital clothing.

Coats for Pine Ridge Indian Reservation in South Dakota

The Pine Ridge Indian Reservation will be accepting donations for warm clothes up to Dec. 3. We remind you to bring back items from fall break.

We will be collecting:

  • coats
  • hats
  • gloves
  • socks
  • snow pants
  • snow boots
  • and other winter wear

Sizes small to extra large, K-12.

Donation box locations

Donation boxes will be in:

  • Braiden Hall
  • Eddy
  • the Library
  • Clark A & C
  • the Alley Cat
  • the LSC
  • the TiLT building
  • Mountain Kids Gymnastic Center

The coats are distributed through the schools by teachers who know which children need winter coats the most. We were able to collect more than 800 coats last year.
