Kids run led by CAM the Ram

Children are invited to take part in the free Kids Fun Run led by CAM the Ram. As every year passes, more and more students and community members join in the fun. The race has averaged nearly 2,000 participants over the past five years, and nearly 1,500 ran in 2009, despite snow and frigid temperatures.

Tradition started in 1980

The 2010 Race will take place on Saturday, Oct. 16 at 8 a.m. at the CSU Oval. This is the 30th Anniversary Race, which was started as a fundraiser for the CSU Adult Fitness program.

Proceeds benefit CSU's Heart Disease Prevention Program

Today, proceeds from the race will benefit the Heart Disease Prevention Program of the Human Performance Clinical/Research Lab. Over $50,000 was raised in 2009 for the Heart Disease Prevention Program. This program provides an opportunity for individuals to be screened for all the risk factors for heart disease.

This screening includes personal and family history, a maximal treadmill test, an examination by a physician, blood lipid analysis, body composition assessment, and much more.
