Faculty service learning mini-grant applications are due Jan. 7

Grants ranging from $500 to $1,000 are available to Colorado State University faculty to fund the development of new service-learning courses or initiatives, for improving existing ones, and for community-based research projects. Applications are due Jan. 7.

Service learning project

Students build a trail as part of a service project with CSU’s Outdoor Program and the Colorado Fourteeners Initiative.

The Office of Service-Learning in The Institute for Learning and Teaching (TILT) is pleased to announce the availability of service-learning and/or community-based research Instructional Mini-Grant Awards. 

These grants, typically ranging from $500 to $1,000, are available to fund the development of new service-learning courses or initiatives, for the improvement of existing ones, and/or for the implementation of community-based research projects. Grants will be awarded to faculty on a competitive basis according to the selection criteria. The deadline for submittal is Jan. 7, 2011.

Steps to take

  1. Visit the Service Learning Information for Faculty website
  2. Locate the bullet titled, "Service-Learning Mini-Grants"
  3. Open the link, "Spring 2011 Mini-Grant Call for Proposal"
  4. You will see a word document titled, "Service Learning Instructional Mini-Grants Request for Proposals." The application is on page 3.
