Theatre showcase

February 10, 2009

In Shakespeare's play, 'The Merchant of Venice,' the character Eccles exclaims, 'Oh, good Fortune!' The Fort Collins and CSU communities will no doubt be saying the same thing about the Colorado State University Theatre Program's showcase of scenes from the upcoming Irene Ryan Acting Scholarship competition. The showcase will take place in the University Center for the Arts on Friday, Feb 13 at 8 p.m..

Showcase auditions

The Colorado State University Theatre program has the distinction of being selected to participate in the regional Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival in Moscow, Idaho from Feb. 16-20.

The invitation to the festival acknowledges the wonderful talent of CSU theatre students and their eligibility for the Irene Ryan Acting Scholarship.  In preparation for the auditions at the festival later this month, CSU students will be showcasing their talents in two-person scenes, monologues, and songs.

On Friday, Feb. 13 at 8 p.m., the CSU and Fort Collins community are invited to enjoy these performances in the Studio Theatre at the University Center for the Arts, 1400 Remington Street.

Ticket prices support aspiring actors

Tickets are available only at the door and are $10 per person. One hundred percent of the proceeds will go to offset the students' costs of participating in the regional competition.
