Help CAM the Ram win mascot challenge

September 4, 2013

CSU's CAM the Ram once again needs your help in his quest to be named the nation's top collegiate mascot.

CAM, who has become one of the country’s most recognized animated mascots, has been invited to participate in the Capital One Mascot Challenge 2013. The online contest gives fans the opportunity to vote for their favorite mascot in weekly head-to-head challenges in the hope of qualifying for the “playoffs” later this year.

Last year, CAM reached the national semifinals before eventually losing to South Carolina’s Cocky the Gamecock. It was CAM’s first time competing in the Capital One Challenge.

Creativity encouraged

The rules for this year’s contest have been changed and allow fans the opportunity to get creative in support of their mascot. This week, for example, fans get 25 points for submitting a cheer for their mascot, or 100 points for sending in a photo or video of people performing your cheer.

If you’re not up for cheering, you can still vote for CAM by clicking on the “vote now” button on the contest’s home page. You can also vote using Facebook and Twitter; be sure to add #CapitalOneCAM.

Help CAM beat Montana's mascot in first round

CSU is matched against Montana’s Monte in the first round. Other participating mascots include Wisconsin’s Bucky Badger, Big Jay from Kansas, Mike the Tiger from LSU, Wilbur T. Wildcat from Arizona, Oregon’s The Duck, Sparty from Michigan State and several others from around the country.
