7th annual Rams at the Rockies set for Aug. 10

July 19, 2013

What could possibly be better than cheering on your favorite baseball team while sitting among friends from your favorite university?

Hundreds of CSU fans gather each year at Coors Field for Rams at the Rockies. The answer, quite simply, is nothing. And that’s what makes Rams at the Rockies such a great time.

Rams at the Rockies brings CSU fans together in Denver on Aug. 10 to watch the Colorado Rockies take on the Pittsburgh Pirates. First pitch is set for 6:10 p.m. at Coors Field.

This seventh-annual event has become a favorite for CSU alumni, family, friends and fans. The day includes a pregame party at Lodo’s in downtown Denver, where Ram fans can gather prior to heading to the stadium.

“One of the great reasons I enjoy attending and being involved in the Rams at the Rockies is that I get to stay connected to the many great alumni here in Denver and Ft. Collins,” said alumnus Al Kawakami. “I appreciate the fact that I have met so many folks from my time at CSU and others both younger and older at this event, and also during pre-event activities. Also, once in a while, I will connect with an old friend who I hadn't seen since I graduated in 1971.”

CSU provost in the spotlight

The game itself will have a decidedly Green and Gold flavor, with CSU provost and executive vice president Rick Miranda singing the National Anthem and throwing out the first pitch. Also, CAM the Ram will be on hand to meet and greet all fans.

Tickets range in price from $4 (Rockpile section) to $23 (outdoor box), and are discounted up to $16 below face value.

Prices include a game ticket, entrance to the pregame party at Lodo’s and a special CSU T-shirt.
