Higher education and civic engagement

November 7, 2012

Center for Public Deliberation staff and students focus on the process of deliberation and community problem-solving, not necessarily its product. The topic of a November 12 workshop is how higher education can help create a future we want.

Engagement Series 2012-2013

The Center for Public Deliberation at Colorado State University and the Poudre River Library District are sponsoring a series of workshops that focus on civic engagement. The serie's topics examine democracy and national issues within the context of civic engagement.

“Shaping our future: How should higher education help us create the future we want?” will be presented by Martin Carcasson, Ph.D., director of the Center for Public Deliberation, and students associated from the Center.

This forum will guide participants through small group deliberative discussions concerning higher education’s public role.
