The University Station is part of the City of Fort Collins and Transfort MAX bus rapid transit service, which will be celebrated with parties up and down the MAX line. Around the Horn is a cross-campus shuttle service that will begin later this summer.

The party will include live music by Post Paradise, tours of campus via the Around the Horn route or the popular Mystery of CSU History tour, featuring the history of and stories about campus buildings and landmarks.

Around the Horn

Around the Horn is aimed at helping visitors, students, faculty and staff get across the university’s nearly square-mile campus more conveniently and quickly. The new, free system, which will officially begin running late this summer, is operated in partnership with the City of Fort Collins Transfort bus system and the Associated Students of Colorado State University.

Around the Horn will provide free rides to 13 stops at locations across campus identified with feedback from students and employees. The shuttle will run every 10 minutes, making a loop from the southeast side of campus, to and around the Oval, across to the Lory Student Center, and down to Moby Arena.

A rendering of University StationThe start of MAX service culminates the largest infrastructure project in the history of Fort Collins. MAX is the Front Range’s first bus rapid transit system and is funded through a variety of federal, state and local partners. A service of Transfort, MAX is the 20th route to support public transportation in Fort Collins and will be free to ride throughout the summer until Aug. 24. MAX and Around the Horn will be free to CSU students, faculty and staff year-round, and Around the Horn also will provide free services to visitors.

The public is encouraged to walk, ride a bicycle or ride Transfort to the different launch day events. Park and ride spaces are available at select MAX stations: the South Transit Center has 175 spaces; Troutman has 18 spaces; Horsetooth has 20 spaces; Drake has 75 spaces; and the Downtown Transit Center boasts 125 spaces with the Civic Center parking garage across the street. There is also bicycle parking at every station.

All Transfort routes will be free to ride the day of the MAX World Premiere event. View a map of bus stops. The South Transit Center and Downtown Transit Center also will be open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. for customer service.
