Barry Alexander, 20-year employee, passes away

Barry Alexander, a former marine who went on to study computer information systems and work as a computer programmer for the Colorado State Registrars Office for 20 years, passed away on December 18.

Barry Alexander, 59, of Fort Collins, passed away December 18, 2010 in his home. He was born on September 6, 1951 in Fort Collins, Colo. to Donald and Edna (Schaefer) Alexander.

He was a Colorado native and worked as a computer programmer in the Registrars Office at Colorado State University. He worked at CSU for 20 years. Barry served in the Marines and then went on to attend school for computer information systems at AIMS in Greeley and CSU. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and reading. He also enjoyed riding his motorcycle and fishing.

Barry is survived by his daughter, Tiffani Ott of Johnstown; grandson, Christian Olivas of Johnstown; granddaughter, Alexis Ott, of Johnstown; brother, Alvy (Skip) Alexander of Golden; and brother, Paul Novak of Denver.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Edna Schaefer; father, Donald Alexander; brother, Jay Alexander; sister, Suzette Alexander; foster parents, Charlie and Florence Novak.

The family will hold a private memorial. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the Barry Alexander memorial fund in care of:
