CSU athletics, Under Armour announce partnership

November 15, 2012

CSU's Department of Athletics has recently announced a new partnership with Under Armour, Inc., the Maryland-based leader in innovative performance apparel, footwear and accessories, to provide on-field apparel and footwear for Ram athletic programs beginning with the 2013-14 academic year.

A step forward for Bold New Era

"It is exciting to enter into this new partnership with Under Armour," said CSU head football coach Jim McElwain. "We're honored that Under Armour saw the direction we are headed, and chose to partner with us. The value of this partnership, both for Under Armour and Colorado State, is enormous. We look forward to a long-term partnership with a terrific company whose philosophy and drive embodies a lot of what we are creating here with a culture of excellence in our Bold New Era."

Under Armour is recognized as the originator of the athletic performance category and has grown to become a global brand with the mission to make athletes better.

"Having Under Armour and their brand recognition is significant for its popularity in the age demographic of our student-athletes," McElwain added. "Under Armour does such an unbelievable job in their industry. We're excited we're going to be part of the Under Armour team."

McElwain is in his first year as head coach of the Rams after serving as offensive coordinator of the Alabama Crimson Tide the previous four seasons.

Colorado State Athletic Director Jack Graham said, "Forging a partnership with Under Armour was a priority for our department and was accomplished through the efforts of a lot of great people and hard work. This is another important step forward in our Bold New Era."
