Film synopsis

Bolt tells the story of a dog who is convinced that his role as a super dog is reality. When he is suddenly is ripped from his world of fantasy, he must come to terms with who he is.

Bolt is completely absorbed with his owner and keeping her protected from the green-eyed man of the television show Bolt works on. His fixation leads him to the point of no return when he believes that his owner has been kidnapped. While in pursuit of his owner, Bolt accidentally gets packaged and shipped to New York City.

Bolt goes through a transitional period in which he learns that he is as "super" as every other dog. His realization that his abilities are nonexistent results in a lot of different emotions and changes in him.

This all culminates when Bolt finds his owner and reunites with her in the action packed climax of the movie.
