2013 Cans Around the Oval CANStruction

October 4, 2013

Gather a team and use your passion and ingenuity to make a sculpture from donated food for CANStruction. CANStruction is a building competition that is the kickoff for the Cans Around the Oval food drive for the Larimer County Food Bank.

Wednesday, October 9
10 a.m.–2 p.m.
Student Recreation Center

Raising awareness, funds

Cans Around the Oval is a Colorado State University tradition, where students, faculty, and staff partner with community members, local media, and area businesses to:

  • raise awareness about the facts surrounding the issue of hunger
  • raise food and monetary donations

This event is Larimer County's largest single-day food drive.

Registered groups design and build a structure out of nonperishable food items to raise awareness about hunger. For example, a group CANStructed a dog bone out of food with the theme “Take a bite out of hunger.”

New location for event

This year's CANStruction will be held on the hockey rink outside the Rec Center.
