John Denneen Weigand

John Denneen Weigand, 84, of Fort Collins, passed away April 23.

John was born October 26, 1929, in Wichita, Kansas, to John A. and Irene (Denneen) Weigand. He graduated from Wichita High School East and Wichita State University (B.A. and M.S. in chemistry). After graduation, John served in the United States Army from July 1954 until June 1956. John worked most of his life in the chemical industry and retired from Colorado State University in 1994 after working at the Lory Student Center for 10 years.

On May 23, 1964, John was married to Lucille Kiecker in Minneapolis, Minnesota. John is survived by his wife of 49 years, Lucille, of Fort Collins; daughters, Gretchen Jorgensen (Michael) and Nancy Weigand, both of Fort Collins; grandchildren, Maia Jorgensen, Anders Jorgensen and Rose Ganshert, all of Fort Collins; and sisters-in-law Marlene Nestande (John), Vernette Kiecker and Marilyn Kiecker, all of Fairfax, Minnesota. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Irene Ann Enns, and brothers-in-law Frank Enns, Myron Kiecker and Donald Kiecker.

No funeral services will be held. The family will gather to inter his ashes at the Trinity Lutheran Church Memorial Garden, Fort Collins. Memorial contributions may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church.

The family would like to thank the staff at Centre Avenue Health and Rehab for providing loving care to John during the last 4 years of his life.
